During the conference, the themes of the transformation taking place as a result of changes in communication and information technologies were introduced, presenting possible future scenarios of the digital economy.

Many topics were addressed during the seminar. It was interesting to understand what is the relationship between the university world and the digital world and what are the challenges of management in the field of IT transformation.

A study entitled “
Hyperconnected Organizations
“, published by
“The Economist Intelligence and Unit
“, conducted among 561 managers from all over the world, shows how companies are looking for the best way to adapt to the new trends of the internet, mobile technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT). The majority of executives surveyed (about eight in ten) see hyperconnectivity as an important opportunity that can support business growth. Only a third of the sample, on the other hand, believe that there are more difficulties than benefits.

Suffice it to say that small and medium-sized businesses that have adopted digital technologies show faster growth than those that have not. In fact, more than 39% of SMEs worldwide agree that “active participation in the digital economy is critical to the survival of the company in the next 3-5 years”. This was announced in a study promoted by SAP and carried out by IDC , which shows that companies that have recorded a 10% increase in turnover in the last year have confirmed that they have “adopted innovative technologies to connect people, devices and the network of customers and partners“.

What about cloud computing? What role does it play in the development and management of small and medium-sized enterprises?

The cloud is a revolution that affects the entire market both on the side of suppliers and on the side of client companies,

Fabio Cecaro mentions in his presentation, that they have never had to deal with X as a service, i.e. with one of the business models that allows data to be processed, archived and stored thanks to the use of hardware and software distributed on the network.

Among the main features are timeliness and flexibility, focus on business, savings, greater stability with less risk and greater speed.
